Triskelion Penannular Brooch

£38.00
sold out

A brooch inspired by the Celtic symbol, triskelion, that consists of three interlocked spirals. Did you know that  even though triskelion spirals feature prominently across the Celtic culture it was first used all the way back in the Neolithic age? It is said the first spirals were found in Malta and not surprisingly, Ireland!

The spiral also carries many symbolism. It is said to represent sun, triadic gods, and the three domains of land, sea, and sky. The triskelion is also believed to symbolise birth, death and rebirth as well as the Triple Goddess (maiden, mother, wise woman). Alternatively, it represents the Holy Trinity. Today, it is widely used by the Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism and the spiral is frequently associated with the god Manannán mac Lir.

As all our jewellery are made to order by us in Northern Ireland, the brooch you receive might look a little different from the photos.

Dimensions (approx.): 10.4 cm (length) x 7.6 cm (width) x 0.5 cm (depth)

Weight (approx.): 33 g
